不好意思消失了兩個禮拜… 最近實在是忙得亂七八糟 orz
大家有個愉快的長周末嗎? mine was not bad~ 雖然很忙但非常的充實!
最近忙著練歌, 接projects, 拍照... etc.
上禮拜結束了韓文spring semester的最後一堂課,
同時也是一年一度的kpop contest day (學校辦的韓文流行歌比賽) 參賽者可以選擇唱或是跳~
我沒有考慮太久就報名了, 因為只要有參加, fall semester就可以免費上!!! 而且有得名的話還有餐廳gift card可以拿!
(我真的覺得學校太慷慨了… 本身學費就不貴 又包晚餐, 動不動還一堆活動/送禮什麼的) (想學韓文的人真的極度推薦去korean cultural center -king sejong institute)
總之, 我滿心忐忑的上了台, 唱了我目前唯一會的一首韓文歌”my destiny” (我的輕快版cover在這)
結果居然還得了最受歡迎獎! (大概就是 唱的沒有太棒但評審們覺得我長得很可愛所以還是頒一個獎給我之類的) (哈哈哈 什麼鬼)
it was fun! 而且還真讓我拿到了一張gift card XD
omg i haven't posted anything here for 2 weeks! *please forgive me*
did everyone have a great long weekend? mine was not bad! although it was packed with tons of events, but i enjoyed it a lot~
been practicing some songs, working on projects (both design & photoshoot). and i finished my spring semester korean class last week, it was also the day for our annual kpop contest! (a singing/cover dancing contest held by our language program). i didn't think too much before i signed up because all the attendees get to take fall semester for free!! plus they are giving out restaurant gift cards as prizes! (seriously i think my korean language school is way too generous.... the tuition is not expensive with dinners included, and they often host different kinds of event & give out free stuff like textbooks, movie tickets...etc. i strongly recommend anyone who's interested in learning korean to check out korean cultural center's king sejong institute!)
anyways, i nervously went up stage and sang the only korean song that i know how to sing - my destiny. (listen to my previous cover here) and out of expectation i actually won the popularity award!! (i guess the judges really liked me even though i didn't sing too well... that's what popularity award's about right?? LOL) it was fun~ yay! gift card! :D
long weekend 我們提前慶祝了我的生日!
是的, 一年就這麼過了… 無法相信我居然經營hernameisshin一年了!!
而且文章篇數也悄悄地突破一百篇! (忍不住為我的毅力鼓掌)
還記得一年前寫的生日文嗎? 其實我幾乎忘了去年生日怎麼過的…哈哈差點被廖先生上鉤拳! 當時他可是超級費心的騙我給我驚喜~
而今年也有小surprise : )
i had my early birthday celebration during the long weekend. yes, a year just passed by like that... i can't believe i've managed hernameisshin for a whole year now! and the total numbers of post have exceeded one hundred! (clapping for my persistence..)
i almost forgot how i spent my birthday last year..but this post reminded me! mr. liao took a lot of efforts lying giving me a surprise last time~ and this year he also prepared something special : )
7/3 起了個大早 梳妝打扮後滿心期待地和貓貓們來個獨照~ ~ (平常都是我拍他們而已)
臭該該→ 一臉不情願的被我抱! 長大之後都不愛我了, 只有肚子餓會找我... 哼!
點點→ 沒作勢咬我已經很不錯…. 超級不屑 根本不在乎我死活, 活在自己世界的貓
胖偷偷→ 唯一黏人的一隻, 可是這天忙著睡覺…......
恩… 怎麼覺得我這個貓媽當的有點悲哀 T^T
on 7/3, i woke up pretty early to get dressed and all that stuff, then asked mr. liao to take photos of me and my cats~ (coz usually it's just me taking photos of them)
gai gai - not really happy when i hold him.... doesn't love me anymore after all grown up, only come to me when he wants food! urgh!
dotty - it's a miracle already that he didn't pretend to bite me.... i think he doesn't care if i'm still alive or not. he just lives in his own world.
toe toe - the only cat that likes me! but he was too sleepy to move that day........
hmm why do i feel a little bit miserable being their mom.. *tears*
我們先去fantastic donuts
那裡有超級無敵霹靂可愛的甜甜圈! 好多動物唷!!
這天吃了兩隻熊和一隻小雞 (怎麼聽起來有點可怕lol)
味道和krispy kreme很像, 還不賴!
we headed to fantastic donuts first. they have super duper cute crazy heart melting animal donuts!!! we ate two bears and one chick that day! (sounds intense lol)
they tasted similar to krispy kreme, not bad at all!
吃完甜食後很盡責(職業病)的拍了穿搭, 請等待不邋遢文 :D
但後來太陽實在太大, 怎麼拍臉上都有影子, 只好轉戰午餐~
我們去了genwa, 也就是我比賽得到的gift card餐廳! 嘿嘿
他是間小高級的韓國烤肉店, 我們點了A套餐, 內容還蠻豐富,
加上這間餐廳的亮點就是他有 21 盤小菜(banchan)!!!
雖然每一樣大概是兩口的量啦.. 但全放上桌還是很澎湃呀!
肉的品質很好~ prime galbi超級好吃! 醃的非常入味, 肉又嫩到爆炸... 如果有機會再去會想單點它~
after the donuts we went on shooting for my weekend outfit post (what a committed blogger i am lol), but the sun was right above us & cause tons of shadow on my face... so we went to genwa instead~
that is the restaurant of the gift card i got from our kpop contest! hehe~ it's a modern korean bbq place. we ordered the a course, which includes 2 types of meat, japchae, banchans, soonbudu, salad, and rice. and the spark of this place is that they offers 21 kinds of side dish!!! (banchans) that's is just crazy!
the meat quality is top notch. prime galbi was sooooo good! it's well marinated and super tender! if i get to go again i'll wanna order extra plates of it!
飽到不行的離開genwa.. 已經大概四五點了吧, 下一個目的地是jul head, 位於alhambra 專門穿洞的店 :D
其實想補穿耳洞想很久了, 因為長時間沒戴耳環, 我的五個(大概)耳洞全合光光! 等我想到要戴的時候都已經穿不過去了……. T口T
可是家裡還有好多漂亮耳環啊… 所以決定去補打~
選擇piercing shop是因為不想用piercing gun, 雖然說我以前的耳洞都是耳洞槍打的, 但後來有讀到一些文章建議不要用耳洞槍, 原因有以下這些, 大家可以參考看看嘍:
1. 疾病傳染的風險
如果操作者不了解正確的穿洞或清潔方式, 來自其他客人的體液 分泌物或是病毒, 很可能就停留在耳洞槍的某個難以清潔到的缺口, 然後傳給下一位客人
2. 沒有所謂標準大小的耳垂
耳洞槍使用的耳環針都是固定長度, 如果是耳垂比較厚的人, 有可能耳環針對他來說就太短, 導致擠壓傷口(沒有空間讓耳洞傷口自然腫脹), 對傷口痊癒有影響甚至是發炎, 不舒服更是另當別論
3. 強制讓耳垂受傷
通常耳洞槍使用的耳環針都不是特別鋒利, 即使針頭有磨比較尖. 用耳洞槍穿洞本身靠的就是槍的力度, 比起用較銳利的無菌針, 耳洞槍更具破壞性, 受傷和痛的程度都可能比手工穿洞來的高
4. 操作者可能缺乏穿洞訓練
美國的專業穿洞師都必須經過至少一年以上的實習, 加上其他相關的醫療課程, 以及認識飾品材質..等等. 反之mall的裡piercing booth或是台灣路邊飾品店家所雇用的店員頂多只上了幾個小時的課, 然後用厚紙板練習幾次就上陣了, 聽起來很可怕對吧?
5. 品質不良的飾品
賣飾品的店所使用的穿洞耳環針通常品質都不是太好 (所以才可以主張免費穿洞阿), 但品質差的飾品可能會引發剌激過敏等問題. 比較適合穿洞的金屬材質應該要是醫療級的不銹鋼, 鈦金屬或14, 18k黃/白金
6. 左右不一致的穿洞
哈哈哈要不是這次的專業穿洞師告訴我 我原本的耳洞一邊比較低, 我大概還不會發現! 但仔細照鏡子後真的發現右邊明顯的比左邊低, 甚至有點太靠近耳垂邊緣了 (還好它已經合了(((ﾟДﾟ;))) 耳洞槍比較難精準的對位, 導致耳環針穿歪了 或是兩邊耳洞位置不一致
雖然說因為穿耳洞而感染疾病/發炎的機率不大, 但預防總是勝於治療嘛, 是吧?
那天到達jul head店員說當天已經沒有open slot了.. 穿洞師的schedule排滿滿! 所以我就約了隔天7/4~
we were stuffed when we left genwa.. and it was around 4 o'clock in the afternoon. our next destination was jul head, a piercing shop located in alhambra. i wanted to get my ear pierced for a long time, all of my ear piercings has closed up due to not wearing earrings.... but i have so many pretty earrings at home that i want to try! so i decided to get my ears poked again~
the reason i chose a piercing shop instead of piercing booth inside the mall is because i don't want my piercing to be done with a piercing gun. even though that's what i had before with my previous piercing experiences, but i came across some articles not too long ago stating that it's dangerous to use piercing guns. and below are the reasons, you can take them as some useful references:
1. risk of infection and disease transmission
when parts are used incorrectly or when the operator doesn't understand or follow standard hygiene practices, body fluids from one client, or common bacteria that's only a problem when it enters a cut, could potentially become deposited onto any area of the piercing gun, and then later transferred to a new client.
2. we don't all have "standard" size earlobes
piercing guns use post earrings of a standard length. people with thick earlobes may find that their new earrings are tight when lobes swell after piercing, and that they have little to no post length to use for expansion to relieve the pressure, end up delaying the healing process or even cause infection.
3. piercing guns cause blunt force trauma to earlobes
most guns force regular, blunt-ended studs through the tissue of your ears, a painful process that can cause damage. the shock isn't typically a huge issue for the lobes, but why risk it? a piercing professional will pierce you with razor-sharp, hollow needles that slice through areas quickly without damaging the surrounding tissue.
4. possible lack of piercer training
people who have worked in retail establishments that use piercing guns often report they began to pierce after just a short amount of training, sometimes only a few hours. with that little training, how can piercers be aware of the sanitary precautions that must be followed to prevent contamination? or how to instruct for proper aftercare?
5. poor quality jewelry
body jewelry should be made from a high quality material that's suitable for piercings. some jewelry used in piercing guns doesn't make the cut, and can create irritation that leads to infection when exposed to the fluids that result from a piercing.
6. uneven piercings
a professional body piercer is far more likely to give you even lobe holes than a person holding a piercing gun. mine original piercings on my two lobes are uneven!! the right one is obviously lower than the left one and it's actually too close to the edge of my earlobe! (i'm glad the hole closed up already...)
even though the chances to get infection / bad piercings by using piercing gun is not that high, but why risk it? prevention is always better than cure, right?
but that day when i got to jul head, they said there're no more open slot for the day.. piercer's schedule was full! so i booked my appointment for the next day, 7/4.

then the night fell. after cell group, a bunch of us were playing with sparklers & shooting slow shutter speed photos outside of church. it's so challenging to write backwards!!! i practiced so many times and still the writing was bad LOL. these are the more readable ones i did...
but the group writings with the lee couple were so cute! (LOVE 2015)
7/4白天參加了婚禮, 下午回到jul head, 幫我穿洞的piercer叫作kat
幾百年沒穿洞, 難免有些緊張(而且好像越老越怕痛orz)
還好kat的技術很好, 只有一點點痛~
想穿洞的朋友可以找她, 但記得要提前預約!
有一陣子沒看到耳朵上有耳環了.. 好懷念呀 XD
on 7/4, we went to a friend's wedding in irvine, then came back to jul head for my piercing in the afternoon. my piercer was kat. i was a little nervous coz i haven't had any body piercings for so many years... but kat made the procedure really easy and relaxing. i didn't have much pain with her excellent skill! highly recommend her if you ever wanna get piercings! (just remember to make appointment ahead of time).
晚上練完團回家, 是開心的切蛋糕時間!!
找了幾個比較熟的朋友(李氏夫婦again)+室友們, 本來只是想很隨興的一起吃蛋糕, 結果廖先生又偷偷和別人串連, 趁我在房間滑手機(lol) 的時候把蠟燭點好, 燈關上, 然後我走出房門就開始唱生日歌….
(有人跟我一樣覺得那個moment尷尬到爆嗎? 要跟著拍手唱也不是, 太冷靜又怪怪的, 只好傻笑… (ﾟ⊿ﾟ)
(然後唱完我還自己衝去把燈打開 因為要幫蛋糕拍照哈哈哈哈)
是我特地到paris baguette買的唷! (自己的蛋糕自己買這樣lol)
#2 fresh cream cake, 好好吃! 不會太甜~ 而且白白的好好看 :D
then we had band practice with my newly poked ears :D after dinner when we got home it was already 10:30ish. i invited a few close friends to our house to cut the cake, just something simple and intimate. but mr. liao secretly set up the cake and turned off the light while i was in my room, and they started to sing happy birthday song as soon as i stepped out.... (does anyone think that's one of the most embarrassing/weird moment in life like i do?? lol)
after the song i ran to turn on the light coz i wanted to take photos of my cake hahaha! i got it from paris baguette. #2 fresh cream cake. it was so fluffy and moist and not overly sweet~ yummy! plus i love the all white look :D
吃蛋糕吃到一半 廖先生說蛋糕下那個被紙包起來的舊鍋子裡有禮物,
我就說沒有的話我就拿鍋子砸你! (因為我覺得他只是用廢棄鍋子來把蛋糕墊高)
然後很蠢的把紙打開…. 果然就只是被刮壞的舊鍋子而已!!
在我作勢要拿它K人的時候他才說 好啦 其實真的禮物在那裡~
接著李小布就拿出一個重的要死的禮物給我 (還差點幫我打開它LOL)
小心翼翼的拆開包裝紙邊邊, 看到裡面的東西我又忍不住噗哧笑出來!!! 居然是另一個鍋子哈哈哈哈, 還有貼了大家留言的便條紙+secret mission board!
原來廖先生偷偷邀請了幾個和我比較熟的朋友, 大家一起合資買了le creuset給我...
擺明了就是要我做飯給他們吃啊…..! 欸 不是啦 哈哈哈

mr. liao suddenly said to me "your gift is inside the old skillet, open it!" when i was eating my cake.. i then told him "i'll use it to smack you if there's nothing inside!" coz i just thought he's using the old skillet as a base for the cake. so i tore off the papers like a fool..... and there was nothing inside!!
when i was about to smack mr. liao with the skillet, he shouted out "okay! the real gift is over there!!" brian took out a big heavy wrapped gift box and handed to me..!
slowly i opened the side of the wrapping paper and peeked inside... then i burst out laughing again!!! it was another skillet hahahaha! and a secret mission board stuck with people's blessing notes.
turned out mr. liao secretly opened a facebook group and invited my good friends to buy me a le creuset as bday gift! obviously they really want me to cook for them..... hahaha just kidding! XD

i happily took my pan back to my room, and thought i should take photos with mac too! although he's not my cat, but he's the one who sleeps next to me every single day! how can i let him go to taiwan when we have such deep bond.... lol
29歲, 一個我從來不覺得會這麼快來到的年紀
彷彿不久前才剛滿21, 可以很理直氣壯的買酒, 覺得青春就是要揮霍,
怎麼一下子就到了膠原蛋白流失+新陳代謝變差的輕熟女階段.. (還有輕嗎?)
雖然有那麼一點不想認老, 但也不得不承認那些溜走的時間確實給自己添了一些成熟懂事, 也經歷許多高山低谷與上帝的恩典..
在30歲前夕我可以很驕傲的說 那些逝去的時光讓我得到好多寶貴的禮物, 用金錢買不到的禮物!
也希望在新的一年, 正式邁入3字頭前, 我可以更多的去愛神愛人, 更多的付出, 更有自信, 也可以更努力的經營這小小的部落格天地!

29, the age that i never thought it will comes so fast. feel like i was still 21 not long ago when i got to buy alcohol with a real id and thought youth supposed to be wasted on stupid things... how come in just a blink of an eye, i'm now entering into the stage of a mature woman where losing collagen & slower metabolism seems normal? lol
but even if growing old is not 100% pleasant, i still have to admit that those time slipping through my fingers did brought me some maturity, some mountain top & valley low experiences, and tons of God's grace. yes, i can proudly say this: i've gained so many treasures through those elapsed time, treasures that can't be bought.
i hope that in this new year, before i turn 30, i can love God more, love people more, give more, and be more confident. also continue to run this website with even more efforts & sincerity!
